Well done to all of our students who represented the School and Copeland District at the County Championships this weekend!

“All in all a fab day and a great bunch of kids who were very pleased with themselves as they should be. We are very proud of them for their achievements and effort levels!”
Some highlights below:
Annabell Starkey – won the 800m county title and secured a new personal best, whilst also now progressing on to next Saturdays Northern Counties meet at Gateshead. A brilliant achievement!
Lilla Leadbetter – competed in both the 100m and 200m sprints and did well on her first major athletics comp, gaining some great experience against the best sprinters in Cumbria.
Will Cunnigham finished in the top 6 for javelin, throwing a personal best of over 4 metres better than his previous. A fantastic achievement!
Ebony Blackwell of Year 12 was runner up in the 800m senior girls race and therefore second quickest senior girl in the County.
Mia Smurthwaite threw shot well for the district in the junior girls event, again gaining some great experience against some very good athletes from across the County.
