Our Year 9 Boys’ Rugby team are celebrating after being crowned COUNTY CHAMPIONS at the Recreation Ground last night.
The match against West Lakes Academy was very evenly contested in the first half with St Benedict’s suffering a couple of early injury blows, which disjointed the team somewhat. Despite this the defence held firm and St. Benedict’s went into the interval 6-0 up.
In the second half St Benedict’s were backed up by their greater squad depth, and managed to settle into their stride and scored a further 4 tries without reply.
It was a solid performance which saw St Benedict’s claiming the silverware and the County title by a margin of 30-0.
Try scorers were Ace Savage, who got two and also Man of Match trophy, Henley Davidson, Jacob Hodgson and Tyce Walmsley.
We are very proud of the team for this fabulous achievement!
