This week students have taken part in another one of our WORDSDAY THURSDAYS! This is an oracy based day, where where the main objective in lessons is for students to learn through conversations and questioning. Students are encouraged to use their voice and have confidence in their discussions.
Feedback from students and teachers has been very positive, with lessons being adapted to encourage more conversations!
In French, Mrs Hannan set up a café scenario where one student was the waiter. The ‘friends’ around the table had menus and ordered from the waiter in French, which was great!
Science lessons all had a team work element! Students were designing Rube Goldberg machines. This is where they take a simple task, in this case moving a golf ball, and deliver it in a much more complicated fashion!
We’ve also had bridge building in DT and a Murder Mystery lesson in English!
