Our Year 10 Catering students have all competed in the first school heat of the Springboard Future Chef competition last week.
They were tasked with designing, preparing & cooking a main course meal, with all of the students cooking Carbonara. which was they judged by Mr Boal and other school staff.
The winners were:
Kayce-Rose D
and
Diana B
Mr Boal said: “It was a close competition, with some outstanding entries. Kayce’s presentation was clear and clean meaning the plate look uncluttered, so the emphasis was on the food. She work diligently with excellent use of the required skills.”
“Diana worked well under pressure, her food tasted fantastic with an excellent balance of flavours, it was presented well. She had mastered the skills required and produced an excellent piece of work.”
“I’m looking forward to see them both in the local final, where they plan and produce a dish of their own.”
