We are proud to share with you that our Computer Science department here at St Benedict’s have recently been awarded the Computing Quality Mark from National Centre for Computing Education.
The Computing Quality Mark is awarded by the National Centre for Computing Education and recognises excellence of computing education offered by a school as part of their curriculum development through the Computing Quality Framework (CQF).
This award shows that we have demonstrated ‘exemplary practice in developing our computing curriculum.’
Mr Charlton, Subject Leader for Business & Computer Science commented:
“As a department we are very proud we have been awarded the nationally recognised Computing Quality Mark showing our exemplary practice in developing our computing curriculum. We have worked hard to develop and improve our curriculum across Key Stage 3 – 5, including offering new subjects such as Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia and BTEC Level 3 Information Technology as well as GCSE and A Level Computer Science.”

“Our computing curriculum is forward-thinking and regularly updated, developed with the intention of delivering universal digital skills education, alongside a more developed computer science curriculum and offers lots of opportunities for students to discover new technologies and skills to thrive in a digital world. Computing is delivered in-line with the National Curriculum requirement for digital literacy and skill; our curriculum intent document demonstrates the support of students’ core progression, with assessment points scheduled throughout the year for all Key Stages.”
