Congratulations to three of our students who have qualified to swim in their respective home nation championships this Summer!
Jackson J, who trains at Cockermouth, Tom L and Scarlett R, who both train at Copeland have been competing in National qualifying long course galas from March until May this year (the qualifying window) to earn their selections and invites to swim at the national meets.
Their hard work and dedication paid off, as August will see Jackson competing in the English Nationals at Ponds Forge in Sheffield in the 800m freestyle, and Scarlett swimming in the Welsh Nationals, in a number of different strokes at the Wales National Pool in Swansea. Tom has qualified for the Scottish Nationals in the 50m and 100m backstrokes and 50m freestyle but unfortunately will be unable to swim as he will be on our planned trip to Italy.
It is great that we have students qualifying to swim for all three countries!
