Winners for Mayors’ Painting Competition

We were very proud to welcome the Mayor of Whitehaven, Cllr Charles Maudling to school this week to present some of our students with competition prizes. 

Ayanfeoluwa Moyoloye, Year 7 and Mia Smurthwaite, Year 9 along with other students from St Benedict’s had entered Whitehaven Town Council’s King Charles III Coronation Painting Competition. 

Ayanfeoluwa was the overall winner in her category, winning a £100 voucher. Mia’s entry was deemed ‘Highly Commended’ and she also received certificate. 

Both of their paintings of King Charles are now currently on display at a photographic exhibition being held in St Nicholas Church Gardens with runs until 8th May.
